We just finished a 1956 Chevrolet Belair Interior with Tuck-n-roll seat covers, door panels and custom trunk with a subwoofer. Owned by Rusty Rueger of Boston NY this car is awesome. One of the best restorations we have seen in our shop in recent history. He chose a custom design which was one of the styles of available original interiors with a slight modern twist. All of the seat covers and door panel upholstery was made from scratch in our shop from pictures that were provided to us by Rusty. The interior materials were all top quality to match the already impressive exterior and motor work. From mild to wild we can help you with your project car or truck interior.

Car Starter’s FYI: What you need to know.

When considering a remote car starter in your vehicle there are some things you should know to be an informed consumer. Everyone has heard of a car dealer who told a car owner “If you install a remote car starter anywhere other than from us, you could void your warranty”. They may not say this exactly, but they will try to imply this. Know this: This practice is Against the Law! There is a Federal Law, The Magnuson–Moss Warranty Act, which prohibits them from them even implying this. Frankly, dealers are just sick of seeing poor installations and problems associated with poor installations. Also in these difficult financial times, they will do anything to make more money. With a little negative persuasion, one can be motivated to spend twice as much (or more) buying a car starter from the dealer, fearing warranty issues, and who knows any better? The truth is, any car dealer has to prove cause and effect. They are obgliated to prove how an added component caused a warrantied part to fail. This is difficult, and if properly installed a remote car starter should never damage anything in your car. A friend once said “I want a factory car starter”. It’s a common misconception that if the dealer installs it, it’s a factory car starter. Not true, if it didn’t come off the car hauler or train with it, it probably is not factory. For instance, many “Ford” car starters are actually made by Code Alarm for Ford and they put a “Ford” sticker on them. One may want to pay double, an advantage is it can be rolled in to your payment. Do the math, it may cost a thousand dollars in the long run. Compare apples to apples: Quality of product, skill level of installers, cost, and warranty. Use the internet: Look up remote car starters, check manufacturers dealer locators, call to compare. No question is foolish. Go to a shop where you are confident of all of these qualitys. It’s yor car, your investment and is an important decision.

Now, one of the most important factors if not the most important is “proper install”. There are many choices when it comes to picking someone to work on my car. Realize that cheaper isn’t always better. We depend on our vehicles every day. I don’t want a trunk slammer (here today, gone tomorrow, working out of their car) to touch my vehicle. I may save a couple bucks but what happens when I need service. How do I get warranty work done if i have any defects? Let’s say someone spent $25,000 on a car. Would one really want a “cheap” remote car starter? A vehicle is an investment, protect it by using only quality products and skilled technicians. A smart consumer will do some homework. Here some things to ask:

1. Is the shop being considered an authorized dealer of that product?
2. Are the technicians trained, or are they just employing a kid who put in a stereo once in a friends car?
3. What is the procedure if there is ever a problem?
4. If my dealer says my car starter caused a problem, will the install shop go to bat for me?
5. Does the shop install a lot of car starters?
